Feb 26th, 2016 – 30 years ago today, Sade won the GRAMMY for Best New Artist and Beverly Hills Cop won the Best Soundtrack GRAMMY.
The 1986 Grammy Ceremony was a wonderful experience for me since it was the first time I had attended the live event and because I had signed Sade to a publishing deal in 1984 soon after I moved to the US. I had also worked on the Beverly Hills Soundtrack and I was thanked from the Grammy stage during the awards presentation.
During that period, I had worked with Bon Jovi, placed a song on the debut Whitney Houston album, signed and represented Sade and worked on both the Beverly Hills Cop and the Top Gun Soundtracks; but the Grammy Awards February 25th 1986 was a very special night for me. Fond memories ….
